TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Please remember that each elected board member is required to complete a training class prior to the annual convention and that every board is required to have at least one member take PTA & the Law each year.

AIM INSURANCE ROUNDTABLE
November 13, 2025 (6:30-7:30 pm)
​
Join AIM as they talk about the different types of insurance coverage that is offered for your PTA. Have an opportunity to ask questions after about what might be the best type of insurance coverage for your PTA to sign up for. (NOTE: This does not count as approved training.)

PTA & THE LAW
November 17, 2025 (1-4 pm)
​
This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one PTA officer each year.

MANAGING YOUR NONPROFIT
November 19, 2025 (9-11 am)
The financial management of the PTA is the responsibility of the entire board of directors. Learn the basic financial skills to manage and track PTA funds, online accounts, legal obligations to maintain your tax-exempt status and other considerations. Recommended for all elected officers and board members.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
December 2, 2025 (6-8 pm)

This presentation will help participants understand the importance of the nominating committee, how to elect them, and methods of organization so they have the tools to help them recruit the best qualified candidates for the positions.
